I am a public historian aimed at presenting history that’s often surprising or unexpected.  This blog showcases some of the more interesting work I’ve undertaken. I have a B.A. (History) from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, a diploma in Cultural Resources Management from the University of Victoria, and am completing a Masters in Public History at Western University.

I have worked and volunteered internationally at a number of museums including the Windermere Valley Museum in Invermere B.C.; the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff, Alberta; the Dunedin Gasworks Museum in Dunedin, New Zealand; and the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

  1. Wow Alex! Impressive bit on Kootenay Park. I guess that’s what you get up to if you put down your clarinet.

Cheers, and all the best for the New Year and always,
